I've been wearing a kilt whenever not at work or in classes for the last two years. I love 'em. I wish I'd started wearing them 25 years ago.

If any of you younger guys are considering a kilt, get off your duffs and order one ASAP. You will regret everey hour you wasted in consideration.

Robert,
I am a typical Southern Celt, i.e. I am of Scottish, Scotch-Irish, Welsh, American Indian, and English descent. I wear the kilt because I've wanted one for 40 years and finally got it. Kilts are also the most comfortable garment an man can wear. And this is important if you are young and unmarried, the ladies like to see a man in a kilt! I wish I'd not waited as long.

The reason I delayed so long was mainly cost.

Until recently, all kilts were handmade, usually in Scotland, of wool, and cost anywhere from $600.00 - 1200.00, just for the kilt.

A few years ago, Steve Vilegas founded Utilikilts and a new kilt revolution was on. Now it is not hard to find a custom made kilt for as little as $150.00. That is still expensive for something to wear daily, but it is within reach of almost anyone. FWIW, there are some fair mass market kilts available prices under $100.00.

If you think these guys look fat and ugly, you really ought to examine your criteria for physical attraction.

But if you think I'm fat, you are right, and as for the ugly, that is a matter of opinion, many agree with you. :-p

I am also a regular kilt wearer. It started as a love of my Scottish heritage and just something that I wore to the games. Over time I realized how confortable they were and began finding more affordable kilts, I began wearing them more often. Now I wear them about 25% to 30% of the time. I do still like my jeans and shorts but a kilt is a viable, comfortable and practical mens garment. While I favor the traditional eight yarders the most, the modern variants are quite nice as well.

Yeah, I do - but then again I am Scottish, so I've got a natural pro-kilt bias, lol.

Tell me, did you fight this decision for 40 years?

Why did it take you so long?

Tell me, what do men wear under their kilts?

I hope you look good in that kilt. Because every man I've seen in one looks terrible. They're fat and ugly and it looks discusting! And because of those men...I'm completely opposed to them wearing kilts! I mean...at least update the plaid pattern....so old!!
