Our country's true objective to use accomplices to get in office, create a reason to invade Iraq which will also necessitate the Patriot Act. Keep the war going so the 1000 military bases and oodles of new Govt personnel will be buzzing. Suppress anyone who doesn't agree 100% with the Imperialist idea for US Govt. Protect staff who get caught mishandling situations by using 'think tanks' to cover-up. If the war looses momentum create the image of danger coming out of another country with the media attention of that threat. Then the only thing that can stop it would be the people.

Our country's objective is to provide freedom, opportunity and security for its citizens and use its superpower status to help police injustice in the world and assist in keeping order where foreign governments fail (when needed on the big scale in a situation that would affect the entire world).

For those of you who claim that our country is all about corporate greed, you forget that the capitalistic system that allows success in this country is the one thing that allows ANYONE in this country the opportunity to realize their dreams. Never has a communist or socialist system worked, ever. When the government controls and provides for ALL of your needs, and you take no responsibility for your own success, the government owns you and you really can never achieve true success.

Those of you that think the war on terror is based on OIL are VERY misguided and should take a deeper look at world history and the Islamofascist threats posed to us and to all civilized developed nations. Guarding & controlling (and helping the Iraqis control) the oil as a strategic tactic to prevent dangerous terroristic regimes like Iran from coming in, taking control of it and profiting from the sale of it in order to fund the destruction of our country's society and societies around the world that aren't Islamic enough, is TOTALLY different from liberals making unfounded and unresearched claims about us wanting to take the oil for ourselves for our sole benefit. To say this is all about the oil is wrong and if you actually paid attention to UNBIASED news, you would know there have been actual verbal threats made by foreign politicans and shown in the news media on video saying "Death to America."

Wise up people, don't just believe what you hear and spew out the filth that celebrities hear and spew out as well - you are doing more harm to your country than good, and that includes ALL of us, you and me.

No one questioned the big three news channels as they all operated with a liberal reporting slant for years unchecked. As soon as FOX news came around, liberals starting whining and lying about the truth of their reporting, but they only had a problem with Fox because this was the first time in history that the news was giving both sides a fair shake - investigating both sides as well. Don't knock it 'til you try it! Give "the other side" a chance - you might realize what you've been missing.

And if you don't pay attention to the REAL news ("The Daily Show" is NOT a real source of news, neither is "The View"), you need to start.

I guess read the constitution and see what the original founder wrote. As for today, you can't really say because there are so many different people with different ideas living in the u.s. It used to be the pursuit of happiness or something like that. I cant remember the whole thing.

to provide a free zone to all those that are rich,,, and i mean elite rich, to make as much money as they can while the gettin's good, meaning while neocons are still in power, then try their best to hoard it when the dems take it back hopefully in 08,,, and here's thinking outside the box, perhaps in 2012 we'll have two new partys running wild and winning elections, one will be based in common sense and the other in reality but maybe i'm just an optimist
