I can't recall hardly any remakes of classic video games besides Resident Evil. What's holding developers back from remaking classics like Final Fantasy VII? That would break sales records if that ever came out for PS3. I know that tinkering with a classic may be immoral, but what do developers care if they're making money?

As of now, game technology is increasing VERY fast. Developers and producers are usually taking advantage of the new technology to start on new game projects to see what they can do with them. You're right, tweaking classic games would definitely lower their classiness. Following that, developers are just usually too busy with the newer generation of gaming. Advances in gaming technology (more realistic graphics, sound effects and other capabilities) means more games, games that developers are making with the new things open to them. Besides, classic games are good the way they are, even if they have glitches you know about in them. That's what makes them special and what lets them remain classic.

You know what, I kinda wish that there was classic video games made for the PS3. Most of the classic games are so hard to come by, and they were treasured games. I think that Sony is working on a way for PS3 users to download classic Playstation 1 games on the PS3 on the Sony store. It would be awesome if Sony could put a whole series of a particular game on 1 PS3 disc, like Crash Bandicoot or Final Fantasy on one Blu-ray disc. I really do think that it would get sales up on games.

Well, they are remaking Final Fantasy VII but the thing thats holding them up, is their probably looking for a new ending.. since , most game makers dont want to have the same endings over and over, thats what kills the game, sure graphics are a advance, but same story = kills the game.

the new games are just plain better. i have been a gamer since the atari 2600 days, and i have tried to play those old games, but they suck now. final fantasy VII was a breakthrough game, but that was back in '96 or so.

because some of them have integrity.

you can't license new merchandise without introducing new characters.
