Since we have zero control over the oil, and no US companies were awarded any contracts from the Iraqi ministry, I'm gonna go against the Oil Control theory.
But most grown ups already know that

Seeing that the Iraqis control their own oil and have the right to sell it to whomever they want I don't see how the oil argument has much merit. If you want a believable reason for invading Iraq, other than the official one(s), the best is probibly as a power base bordering Iran which gives us two fronts, one in Afghanistan and one in Iraq. [with a tenative onein Turkey also]
(the Turkey one is sort of the Iraqi one, but okay)

Oh, I think there is some political propaganda involved but the politicians involved have got no handle on the oil issues. I think we are corrupting the society with large corporations. I think we are trying to protect corporate interest in oil interest. If you are wondering like I am look at the profits of oil companies. Look at the cost of a gallon of gas.

If the US wanted to control the oil, then why did the US give the country back to Iraqi rule and why aren't oil pirces lower in the US?

That is one reason but their are others like sucurring this nations oil supply, having a stronghold next to iran, and also a stronghold next to isreal so we can protect them. Now dont get me wrong these are not bad reason they are all actually good reason for going to war with iraq.

We don't control the oil, the nation of Iraq controls thier own oil and we have to buy it from them just like Iran and other nations over there.

The current administration couldn't care less about the people of Iraq. They just want to form their "New Middle East" that would benefit the corporate scum of the US and Israel. If they really cared about freeing the Iraqis from terrorism, then they would stop terrorizing them.

It's not just propaganda to control the oil. It's also propaganda to try and keep control of the US government. Fortunately, it's not working as well as it used to.
