Yes, and it fractured/broke as well. You may need an x-ray from the ER to see if there is a fracture or 'just' a sprain. They basically just tape the fractured toe to the next toe for some stability and they may give you a special shoe with velcro fasteners that helps your foot to not bend. I actually just fractured my foot yesterday :( I may ask the orthopod (orthopedic dr) for a script for physical therapy/water therapy to hopefully hasten healing and feeling better.
P.S. Fortunately, I went to the orthopod and he said that I don't have a fracture but instead tendonitis (inflammation of the tendon, a cord that attaches muscle to bone) which is the cause of the swelling and bruising. Thankfully I should have less down time than otherwise but still can't drive til able to put full pressure on foot. Hoping that you heal as quickly as possibly too :)
