I'm also a Red Sox fan. I don't it's Joe's fault the Yankees' are pitching trouble. This lies with Brian Cashman. Instead of spending all that money on over the hill or often injured pitchers (Randy Johnson, Carl Pavano, Andy Pettite), hitters they have no room for (Melky Cabrera, Bobby Abreu) he should've been trying develop younger pitching through the minors or acquire through free agency. Baseball has golden rule good pitching beats good hitting. Cashman obviously doesn't subscribe to that rule.

Do I think Joe Torre will be fired as the Yankees? I'd say it's a good possibility if the Yankees are struggeling at the all-star break, I think Joe Torre is gone.
I'm by far not a Yankees fan, but when things aren't going well with any ballclub, the owner can't release all of the players, so the manager usually winds up being the scapegoat by getting fired.

I really hope not .While Joe Torre may not be the greatest manager in history he does have the ability to keep himself and his team calm and focused in the intense environment of playing for the Yankees . In NYC being calm in the face of a disaster is an incredibly valuable asset , just ask Bob Lemon.
I just don't see another manager coming in and doing anything better than what Torre's been doing given the abysmal state of the Yankee pitching staff.
If anyone needs to be fired it's Brian Cashman who has known for years that the Yankees need pitching and hasn't done a whole lot to get it. Cashman has built a team that needs to win games by 7-5 scores in order to be successful . That philosophy will get you to the dance but it won't bring you home

I'm a Yankee Hater and i have no respect for Joe Torre, you gotta realize that any idiot could make the playoffs with their payroll and team. Torre never had success outside of the bronx and he probably wont be able to get another managerial job.
As far as firing him the yankees really missed out on a guy named Joe Maddon the tampa bay manager. Torre should never of been resigned during the offseason, Maddon would have been an amazing fit for them hes a gifted manager

They would be so stupid to let him go. Its not his fault the entire starting rotation is hurt and he's forced to throw out guys who should still be in AA ball. He's one of the best managers in baseball and its WAY too early to panic with a team this talented. The Red Sox has this same sort of thing happen towards the end of the season and they kept Francona. There isn't anyone out there thats better than him, so this would be purely a panic move.

I am a Blue Jays fan and yea even though Torre is a legendary manager, Steinbruner won't tolerate his enormous payroll sitting on the bottom of the division looking up to teams that they usually lead like the Jays, Orioles and D-Rays

its a terrible situation, torre is a great manager, but the only reason he is still around is becuase stienbrenners son in law was the voice of reason that kept him around. But his daughter filed for divorce so the kid is out and so is torre. If they dont win the world series he's gone. come july if they arnt in first he's gone. its just a matter of when at this point. And all of this comming from a huge yanks fan

To have the talent on that team and to be able to go out and get any one you need regardless of the cost.quite frankly joe torre is a horrible manager. He manages an allstar team everyday.

No. He's still one of the best managers in the game and there is nobody out there better to replace him at this point.
Go Sox!

His players are stuggling, but it's more on the defensive side. Yankees GM needs to sign good pitchers.
