I have big thighs/hips/butt. Btw i wear a 16/18. I bought these grey jeans which are supposed to be straight but a little long for my petite-ish figure (5'3" or 5'4") so they look almost skinny. They accentuate my thighs and hips with a few swipes of bleach....(lightly though)...

Can i save these $40 jeans? They are cute, grey and grinded but can i make them more figure flattering...can i dye them dark grey or black successfully, and can i stretch out the leg opening or am i better off cutting it to a crop.

sounds like too much work to me. i would just return them unless you just love the way they fit.. which it sounds like you dont really. doesnt suck when that happens? you find the perfect flare and then bam, it gets cut off because of your height! im 5'1 and a size 2 and trust me its no easier finding jeans that fit me either im curvy and short i found that if i buy more high end jeans (7 for all mankind, true religion) that the stores shorten them just right and find which ones wont lose their shape

I have nothing against skinnies...but I prefer flared. Hey, they've been around for quite some time. Skinnies, on the other hand, were popular in the 80's, died out in the 90's and started appearing near the late 2000's. I have a feeling they won't be as successful as flare, but they'll definitely make their marks on history.

i am going to be honest with you, but what exactly is it that you like about these jeans? from your description, it doesn't sound like you like anything except maybe the grey color. I personally would take them back and look for another pair. There isn't anything you can really do to fix them and cropping them would just look silly.

the swipes of bleach actually will work against you for figure flattering. the more "distressing" the larger you will look. opt for darker washes and you will look slimmer. ditto with a straight leg or bootcut.

You can dye them black, but if you try opening the legs, to make them flare, you would have to cut them in the bottom seam and add a piece of material to each leg, just cut the off and dye them black and call it a day.

Maybe return them or add them to the oops I took off the tags pile I have in the back of my closet. Try and give them to a friend.
PLEASE do NOT crop them yourself, if you need them shorter for $12 you can go and get them taken up, turned into capris at a tailor. You already are fashionable if you chose grey jeans, please don't just cut them.
