Study word problems that have equations in them. Any tips?

Like-Product is mutiply
sum-add up ect.

Ask your teacher. He or she probably has a lot of extra stuff lying around, plus you will get points for being interested. There's never any bad side to having a teacher think you are interested in the subject.

Go online and do a search for "sample word problems." I found there, among others:

Another key word is "of". It means multiplied by.
"Difference" means subtract.
In all word problems, if at all possible, I try to draw a small diagram or picture of the problem right on the paper where I am going to solve it. This helps you visualize the problem in your mind. Usually, if the drawing is correct, the solution just leaps off the page.

I think you just answered your own question but yes you can study them. You can learn how to realize what the problem is really asking and how to eliminate the parts that are just there to throw you off or confuse you.

tough question; there are so many different types of workd problems using so many different concepts.

You could always teach your mom, brother, goldfish, dog....they may not learn them, but you explaining it to someone will help you!
