I know someone who is 18 years old and is pregnant with my cousin who is 16 year old. If I reported it, what would happen to the friend who is pregnant and the boy?

Well my grandma keeps saying that if someone reported her, that she would go to jail. I'm not sure what Indiana laws are.

Both parents agree on them being together and have no problems with her being pregnant. But I see it wrong in so many ways. Because both parents agree that she should work but he shouldn't and concentrate on school. Even though he is homeschooled and could find a full time job and still do homework. Because the girl did the same because she was homeschooled and worked full time. But he is just lazy and doesn't want to work at fast food which will be the only job he can get since he's 16.

The boy is 16, he's my cousin.

The girl is 18 soon to be 19 pretty dang soon and she was my best friend.

They don't love each other. They cheat on each other all the time.

First, why would you report it?

Second, most likely nothing would happen if YOU reported it, but if the parents of the underage person were to report it then she would probably get a slap on the wrist from the police. Now if the girl was the younger one, dude would be hung.

Their are state laws that protect young people who are right on the border of 18...like a 17 and 19 year old having sex, or in your instance a 16 and 18 year old having a baby.

Some states allow a 2 year 'grace' period between the two ages of the individuals, where some states go as far as to have 4 years diference. Either way, theres really nothing bad that would happen, because from the sounds of it they are going to be protected by the law of their state.

well, I know that this law is different in some states then in the state I live in. If I remember right around that age, it's more the amount of difference in the age that matters. and not the age of each person involved. I believe that amount is 3 years or less. Anything more then that would be wrong in most states. This is what I've been told although I'm not sure this information is correct.

Parents can press charges or the state can press charges because it's against the law. You will go to jail. Just wait til miss miss get's 18. If she comes up pregnant, you will have a problem on your hand sir.

It would depend on whether they started having sex before or after she turned 16. If she was 15 or younger when this started, you cousin could get charged with a crime. If they only started this after she was 16, though, then it is legal for her to be with an 18-year-old if she is sober/consenting/ et cetera,

The 18 year old would be charged with statutory rape.

The 16 year old child could be placed in protective custody, and the 18 year old could go to prison.

If the difference is only two years then I don't think charges can be pressed. You may want to check with your state laws on this one, but it's that way in many states.

well for me personally i feal that if they are in love that it really doesnt matter what the age difference is as long as it is reasonable not like a 12 year preagnant with an 18 year old now that's just weird but in this situation i think it's alright
