I honestly don't know. I mean I can sit here and come up with lots of ideas and suggestions as far as what I may do to help, but would anything actually help. I don't have a liscense to cure so I could actually do more harm than good. I would however suggest they get some help.

...All you can really do is tell them that it's extremely dangerous and hope they listen. I have a friend who once started cutting and starving themself. I told them that they don't deserve to treat themself like that and that they are so much better than resorting to self destruction. Every single day I would tell them that they need to stop...it eventually worked, but I don't think it was because of me. I think it was because they realized that they were basically doing it for nothing and that it wouldn't stop anything from happening.
You can't necessarily change a person. You can try and hope your words hit hard, but if they don't, all you can really do is hope and pray that they come to their senses.

It's very hard to help someone who doesn't want help but you might stage an intervention. Get the person's friends and family together to confront him or her about the behavior and try to persuade him or her to get help.

I would feel them out to see what kind of help they would accept, because you can't help them if they don't want it. If they're truly a danger to themselves and refuse help, you may need to get their parents, significant other, counselor, or pastor involved.

That would depend on HOW they were destroying themselves. You could tell them that you are concerned about them.
