Has anyone else required these? Are they safe?

Yes, they are safe, your ob/gyn is taking precautions. If your progesterone level is low, then progesterone supplements are needed to maintain pregnancy. I was on Crinone progesterone gel while pg with my son, and was given progesterone injections while pg with my daughter.

Good luck to you, i wish you all the best!

i took them since 5 week all the way to 9th week.
lets just say they are no fun!!! i had to take them 3 times a day 200mg. if you are inserting them in the front you might get almost like a yeast infection and it wont absorb that well. best i know its disgusting but insert them in rectum that way it absorbs much better but don't be surprised if you get diahrea perfectly normal and you can take meds to stop it i was told by my doctor. i wish you all the luck, keeping my finger crossed for you.

Do you have any history of miscarriage?

If your doctor or midwife does something during your pregnancy that you don't understand, or are concenred about (especially taking drugs) then ASK.

They are the best at explaining why they have done something, as only they have your full medical profile.

Normally, they are used to help maintain the pregnancy so you don't miscarry.
