Generally speaking, a "sound device" is a sound card.

And all sound cards currently on the market is capable of supporting a 2.1 setup (which basically is stereo w/ subwoofer)

So I guess the answer is yes, unless there's something you haven't told us yet.

If you're talking about a 2.1 speaker system, then Yes, your sound card can support it.

2.1 just means 2 speakers and a sub woofer, and all sound cards support stereo sound (2 speakers).

If you want a 5.1 or 6.1 system you might have a compatibility issue.

depends on if your sound surports it or not, go to the sound card makers site.
