Just read the book "Fox in Socks" to my son because what child can read this? How annoying!

Well he ended up laughing the whole time I read it because my tongue kept getting all twisted lol When I got to the page that says "New goo. Blue goo. Gooey. Gooey. Blue goo. New goo. Gluey. Gluey. He was laughing so hard his face was purple. He made me read it over again like 6 times before he would let me turn the page. So at least he got a good laugh out of it at my expense :/ LOL

Personally I refused to read The Cat in the Hat to my child. Two kids - home alone - someone knocks on the door and asks to come inside and play. They open the door - the fish says NO NO. What kind of a message is that? For a poetry class once, I wrote the sequel in perfect Seuss talk. The cat kills the kids, robs the house, flushes the fish. Pax - C

I thought it was great!
Is it not a "sign of the times" that harmless tongue twisters show us all up for the stiff, unbending, fearful, insipid bigots that we are? If all it takes to set us off is a reminder that our tongues are not flexible, what does it say about the rest of us- rock-hard shoulders, bad digestion, stomach ulcers, lower back problems and so forth.
Loosen up and laugh with your son!
Delight in the new-found flexibility of tongue and jaw,
and dare yourself to let something slip out that you wouldn't ordinarily otherwise say!
There is something very refreshing in honest, heartfelt laughter that we don't often allow ourselves to enjoy these days. use every opportunity you can to laugh. It is the best medicine

It is a tongue twister. My mom wouldn't read it to me, either, but our public library had a record of someone reading this and other Seuss stories, and my dad pirated it to reel-to-reel and I listened to it often.

Probably a lot easier to read it to yourself than out loud, actually!

If you read it for your son, as I am sure that I will read it to my son, ignore the nonsense and enjoy your son!
Dr. Seuss ROCKS!

Probably- but different strokes for different folks. What does your son think of it?- Afterall, it was written for HIS ears- not yours. :)
