Years ago I picked up a bootleg tape of a Rod Stewart album in Asia. It had this song about a woman who's man get's wrongly (I think) accused of something and he's put to death by the corrupt police. Of course the tape is gone and I don't remember the song. I haven't been able to find the song. Anyone know which song I'm talking about?

It wasn't the Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia. The girl was pregnant.

I'm wondering if it's "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia" which was originally done by Vickie Lawrence and remade nicely by Reba McEntire, but it's possible Rod did a version.

I love Rod Stewart and have seen him 4 or 5 times, but I don't think I've ever heard that song. Sorry!
