Nothing will happen to the stone. Diamonds can't be harmed by water under any circumstances. The setting may need cleaning or replacing depending on what metal it's made of and the acidity of the water. Also make sure the diamond is still securely set in the setting so the stone doesn't fall out.

The polish of the ring would become dull after a few period so which doing some work put off your ring. The diamonds in the ring will not get affected

Nothing If it was real and set in 14 - 10 k gold. If it falls apart then it wasn't real.
