Before you consider punishment perhaps you should consider the possibility that he really "don't know how to do it." Maybe you should sit down with him and find out what it is he doesn't know how to do. Then offer your own expertise or get some help from his school. If he is just being lazy, take away all cell phones, ipods, gameboys and any other entertainment device until he gets busy doing what he should.

All sins are eternal, to argue that shoplifting isn't as "undesirable" as rape or homicide is to look on the area from a human perspective (organic for sure because that we are human). yet we may be able to easily see issues from our constrained little intelligence, we tell a lie - it hasn't damage every person has it? What we've carried out in spite of the truth it quite is create or fabricate a falsehood, ensuing in a discrepancy between one human being's opinion and yet another. We assume that this lie hasn't damage every person despite the indisputable fact that the untruth it quite is now obtainable is waiting to reason doubt and absence of trust, which may deliver about worse issues over the years. after we commit a sin - any sin, we commence a series reaction (like lights a fireplace) and we lose administration over the position it ends. chance free toddlers do not grow to be chance free children and then chance free adults and all of unexpected for no reason come to a decision they are going to rape or homicide someone or commence a conflict, the most heinous or crimes are grown contained in the cesspools of lies and injustice. A lie, like different sins have eternal repercussions way previous what we are able to visualising it quite is why taken contained in the context of eternity all sins are as undesirable as one yet another. for sure in an ethical relativistic experience the following on the earth we view some crimes as worse than others yet it truly is no longer depending on absolutely the view of an eternal being yet by the constrained view of human socieity.

If you are sure that he does know how to do it and just being lazy then....
tell him he must need help so you will set up afterschool tutoring sessions with his teacher. So he can spend extra time with her to learn it.
or
My parents hired the school geek that aced the class to come to my house EVERY DAY until I got it right, lol. I picked it up quick.
or
When he starts with the "I don't feel like doing it", tell him he must need a physical to make sure he's in good health and when he goes to that he is getting a full physical, including an anal probe.
or
tell him to get more energy to do his homework, he should exercise more. Make him run, weed the garden, pick up litter along the highway, mow the lawn, mow the neighbors lawn.
Make sure he knows what happens to those who dont' do their homework, by taking him to volunteer at a homeless shelter, or a scared straight program.

First, talk to his teachers and find out if he is paying attention in class.

Then, if he is paying attention, have his eyes tested to make sure he can see the blackboard okay. (Some people who are born with bad eyesight don't know there is anything wrong with their eyes--they think everyone sees things as blurrily as they do.)

If his eyes are okay, have him tested for learning problems like dyslexia. That's another problem he could have and not know he has it.

If all that checks out, then get medieval on his butt. His job is to go to school and to do his homework. Your job is to provide for him, etc. If he doesn't want to do his job, then you don't have to do yours. Obviously, you shouldn't kick him out of the house, but stop doing the things you normally do for him. Make him do his own laundry. Make him cook his own meals. Make him figure out a way to get to the mall with his friends because you aren't a taxi service. Cut off his allowance because you aren't a bank. Stop paying for extra luxuries like cologne, hair stuff, cell phones, and internet access. Basically, make him understand that what the two of you have is a contract. You agree to be his Mom and do the Mom stuff, and he agrees to be the kid and do the kid stuff. The number one kid stuff is going to school. School involves homework. If he doesn't do his homework, he isn't living up to his end of the bargain, and neither should you.

I think he will probably shape up really quickly when he finds out he has to walk everywhere, cook his own meals, and wash his own laundry. Teenagers are far too busy to want to do all that stuff on their own.

I wish you the best of luck.

If a teen or ANYONE said to me that "he DON'T know how to do it," I would suggest he first learn to speak proper English!!!
You want creative???? Okay ,here goes:

Dodge City, Kansas
Circa 1876

Young Johnny McCracken was late again for school. He was much more interested in the goings on in this frontier town than he was with The Three R's !!! Why, just last week he had witnessed Marshal Dillon :
1. Throwing a drunk out of the Longbranch
2. Shooting a desperado in a gunfight
3. Stealing a kiss from his new girlfriend, Sunshine MacGillicutty. Johnny made a note of this. If ever he was in trouble with the law, he would resort to blackmail!!! (He is unaware that Matt and Miss Kitty have broken up.....LONG story!)

Anyway, here he was...a 13year old boy on his way to school. Besides being late, he was ill prepared....yep!! No homework AGAIN!! As he entered the small schoolroom, he tried to be inconspicuous.....but, no.....the teacher, Miss Brooks, saw him. "Johnny McCracken!!! Come here immediately!!!" Johnny walked slowly to her desk. "Late, as usual.Where is your homework, young man? Johnny cleared his throat as he shuffled his feet......"I didn't know how do it, maam." "WHAT, did you say," she shrieked ?!!! The little girl in the front row yelled out....."He said he don't know how to do it!!"
Both kids were given detention and forced to write 50 times on the blackboard: "I will speak proper English in school."

Ask the teacher if he/she can have a meeting with you to discuss why he isn't understanding the assignment. If he really is trying then you will know how he acts with his teacher. If he is being lazy then take away the privileges. Get reports weekly from the teacher. The school yr. is almost over.

First off, if they were given Homework. it was, more than likely, something that was taught in the previous days lessons. Either your child, wasn't paying attention. Or just doesn't wanna do the Homework. I would advise that you have the child, teach himself. What they must have been sleeping through, the previous day.

I would suggest private tutoring - that's what my teenager started 2 weeks ago. Just an hour a day, once a week!

and if they complain on other homework, get a tutor for that too.

oh - and if your teenager works partime - they pay for it out of their pocket!

They won't complain again about homework!

bar his bedroom windows and lock him in his room till it's done. as proof have him slide it under the door for inspection. lol I'm kidding
usually the best punishment for a teen it to take away personal items they care about. SORRY simply grounding them just doesn't cut it. :)
