You still have plenty of time left for your baby to turn. Alot of babies don't go head down until after 36 weeks. Some doctors around that time will try to turn the baby if he/she still isn't head down by then. But if your baby turns out to be one of the stubborn babies, they will not make you deliver breech. They will schedule a c-section for yours and the baby's safety. Talk to your doctor about your concerns. You really don't have to worry just yet! Good luck :)

It is quite common for babies that are breech to turn into the vertex position prior to the due date and be able to deliver vaginally. However, if a late ultrasound shows that baby is still breech, you will likely get a choice....some MDs will offer a version, which consists of giving you medicine to relax your uterus and then one MD stands on each side of your belly and they lube it up with u/s gel and physically try to turn the baby from the outside of the belly. They usually do this under ultrasound guidance to make sure the baby is safe, and usually they need to monitor you after the procedure. If it is successful, they made decide to induce you at that point, since some babies flip back around. If it is unsuccessful, they will likely schedule you for a c/section.

If you opt not to do the version, then you can opt for a c/section.

Breech deliveries are not very common these days, in fact, most MDs will do everything to avoid them (they still do occasionally occur). It would seem that the shoulders are the hardest to deliver, but since they can be manipulated, it's actually the head and if you deliver the whole body and the head gets stuck it's very dangerous.

Good luck and I hope the baby turns for you!

I think this depends on your doctor. My midwife will try and turn the baby. But you still have time for the baby to turn. They start worrying about it around 36/37 weeks, if the baby hasn't turned by then they will look at other ways, such as turning it or c-section.

my baby didn't turn until 36 weeks so your baby may still turn. You will have to have a c section they are not too keen on delievering breech anymore as it causes too many problems throughout the labour. Many people i know have had a c sec and they found it ok and didnt have any problems and actually said they preferred it to a vaginal birth

My second was still turning somersaults up until the third week before delivery and the head wasn't engaged till the day before. She was full term. So at 30 weeks, I wouldn't worry yet.

But you should discuss with your doctor - your concerns. So which ever way you go, you will be armed with the information you need.

Some doctors try to turn the baby, however, it's not recommended. My ob/gyn advises not to have a version (turning of the baby) b/c of the risks involved.

I've had two emergency c/sections. As long as baby is delivered safely, it's OKAY. I was terrified to have a section, but when I realized that it would save my baby's life (not to mention mine when I delivered my son), it didn't matter to me how he came along.

Good luck to you!

If baby doesn't move down into the head first position they will do a c-section. There is too much risk having a vaginal delivery

If you are really concerned about getting your baby turned so you can avoid a c-section, and I advise you to!, call around to your local chiropractors to see if any of them do toe acupuncture to help the baby be released for her/him to turn. It really does work. I have done it with two of my babies to avoid additional c-sections. Good luck
