How come some dimes are blurry? Is it because they are dirty or losing luster? If you compare some it others some are more shinier...

Yes, coins get dirty, lose their original mint luster, and some details worn off(if this is the 'blurry' that you meant) due to circulation. It's normal. Newly struck coins have the luster intact, and as the coins enter circulation, they are handled, rubbed against other coins and objects, jingled in pockets, and thus become 'blurry'.

One reason is they are small and do not strike up well. If you notice some dimes have better detail than others, even if they are new and shinny. The detail is missing in the bust, so it looks blurry.

coins are handled in circulation. one reason why proofs are usually sealed.1) oxidation. the oils from fingers accelerate the oxidation process. There are oxidation processes at work, that alone is one cause..an ionic process where metals react with air and moisture. Mostly zinc. starts shiny in pure state, degrades after time ZnO- the result. a hazy compound.
