Would you be offended if someone (sort of famous) told you that if you lost 10 pounds that you could be a model?

It's kind of tricky.

Would you take it as an insult or as a compliment?

I would take it as constructive criticism if you are pursuing a career in modeling. Or get a second opinion.

No I wouldn't be offended. I think I would take it as more of a compliment than an insult because 10 extra pounds is not all that difficult to lose.

Half full or half empty?

I guess I would take it as a compliment that I would be THAT CLOSE to being a model! ;)

But... if you are satisfied with how you look already and don't think you need to lose 10 pounds, I wouldn't do that to make someone else' s definition of what would look good. It's your health and that should be a big factor.

what's the line from that movie, Princess Bride, "If you haven't got your health, what have you got? " ;0)

I would be happy to know that this person shed light on their ignorance by offering their opinion of beauty... Have you seen some of the recent rail-thin anorexic models these days? I know of beeeyyyuuuuteeeeefull women of all sizes carry their weight gracefully as of they Fred Astair's partner, selfless, fun and happy to be around. The remark i would take this personal and put this person in mental check.

Not at all tricky. Given that I have no interest in modeling, I really wouldn't care one way or another.

No, since models are so much thinner than is normal and 10 pounds isn't that much . . . it wouldn't be like they are saying you are fat. I guess they would need to make that clear.

I think I'd be insulted that someone couldn't just think I was as beautiful even if I didn't lose weight.

I would be quite happy if someone said that to me. That means that you're not a bulemic toothpick, but pretty enough to be one? I dunno how to explain it, but being 10 pounds over a twig is a great compliment.

I'd take it as a compliment. If you don't you're probably quite insecure.
