that your too young to be in love when your 16? Why do they say we dont know what love is and we are just getting into trouble??
I think i know what love is and whats good for me.
Have any of you been with your highschool sweetheart for a while?
And what are your thoughts?

i know alot of people who are still together. Example...my aunt and uncle have been together since 7th grade and are married with two kids.
i just hate when people tell me im wrong. Like i feel it, ive been with other guys and my boyfriend seems so different we have out fights but i love him. We have been together for 9 months and it seems like its never going to end.

ha yes more detail.
okay my bf is 18. im almost 17. We have known each other for more than 9 months.
I KNOW that love is not spreading your legs...thats far from love.
I just think all people are different in the sense that some are ready for love and some are not, if you know what i mean.
I have never felt so close to anyone, it means so much that he just wants to make me happy and would do anything to see a smile on my face.

I think you need to do what makes you happy.
I met the love of my life when I was 17 and we've been married for 8 yrs now. Just be careful and have fun!

Without fail, every one I know that married their high school sweetheart regretted it by their mid twenties and either ended up divorced or with affairs.
I think people say that because you've barely lived and seen the world at 16. Not enough experiences to go by. How do you know this person will stand by you if you're really sick, or broke, or in trouble.....

As long as you understand that love does not mean spreading your legs, then I guess you can be in love. When I was 16, I would have told you I love you and promised you anything you wanted if you would spread your legs.It hurts all of us when a child is born and the parents aren't ready.

The odds are against you sweetie. 9 months is not enough time to know someone at your age. You both will be going through a lot of changes in the next few years. Why be in such a hurry you have a lifetime ahead of you, take your time and enjoy.

When I was 16, I thought I knew too.... I was wrong.
When you are older, you will understand. Just trust me on this one. The high school sweetheart will be either a nice memory, or a bad one, but a memory still.....

I think it's possible to be really in love when you are 16, but most of the time it's just infatuation. When I guy says he loves you, he usually means he wants you to make him happy; that's not real love. When he wants to make you happy, that's love.
