16 weeks and my belly is crazy itchy! I've been using palmers belly butter so it's not dry. It's just sooooo itchy! My nipples are driving me crazy itching too! Anyone else have this? Have you found anything that helps?

YES! I was so itchy, and nobody told me my breasts would itch. Apparently walking down the street scratching your belly is OK, but people stare at you if you are scratching your boobs!
1] Quit using soap. Buy a body wash with moisturer, preferably unscented.
2] Moisturize after every bath or shower, and during the day if you need to.- unscented, again!
3] Buy a bra that is made of hypoallergenic or 'moisture-wicking' fabric. Go braless at home if you need to.
4] Keep your fingernails very short, smooth, and avoid scratching. [ I used to wake up in the morning with scratch marks all over me, from scratching in my sleep.]

Whatever you do don't scratch! I'm 39 weeks right now and used to have a lot of itching and burning on my belly. I asked my doctor about it and she told me it was a pregnancy induced rash. So she prescribed me some itch cream (sorry, I forgot the name) that took the itch away within a matter of 2 days. I call it the "wonder cream" b/c now I have virtually no ithcing and seems to have faded my stretch marks. So if anything, ask your doctor.

This is all normal.... just your skin stretching. You are starting to get bigger quicker, and although it may not be that noticeable, your skin is trying so hard to accomodate your growing uterus! Massage your belly etc with some moisturiser like Palmers cocoa butter or lotion. Doing this every morning and night before bed helps alot. This will probably come and go during the rest of your pregnancy.. Good luck

Try a different lotion to make sure that is not the cause. My sis is allergic to cocoa butter, so you never know. That said, I'm a bit itchy too (17 weeks) I think it has something to do with the skin stretching.
