My wife always says when the phone rings, who was that your girlfriend? What is up with that?

1. Did you cheat on your wife before or give her reason to believe you cheated? If so, she is feeling insecure about your relationship still.

2. Have you lied to your wife before about your female friends? If so, she could be "checking in" with you.

4. It could be a joke -- do you ask her the same question if she receives a telephone call from a male friend?

It could mean several thing or nothing at all. Maybe she's insecure maybe she's cheating maybe she just wants to act as thought shes in grade school. Tell you what from now on when the phone rings let her answer it I don't care if your setting right on top of it when she ask why tell her I just figured it was your boy friend and I dont want to talk to him:)

do you talk on the phone alot? to females more specifically? cuz i have got to say....i hate it when my husband talks away on the phone when i am trying to give him my full attention. and it really pisses me off when he's talking away to some female. especially when he has never talked to me about the very subject he is talking to her about. am i rambling? anyway....you need to pay more attention to your wife. she is most likely upset about something. pay attention to her. make her feel like you are spending time with her only and not with your head anywhere else. ask her veiw on the subject of your phone conversation. how would you like it if she sat next to you yacking on the phone to a girlfriend or male friend while the two of you were watching a movie together. rude isn't it? keep your calls to a minimum while you are at home with your wife.

Insecurity, especially if you don't have a "girlfriend". If you do have a "girlfriend", then it's the truth.

She may/may not know, and she could be guessing by your reaction when you answer the phone.

If not, then it could be guilt. She has the "boyfriend" and she is laying her guilt trip on you. It's called reverse psychology.

Well it could just be a joke. I know my husband and i tend to go back and forth about stuff like that joking sometimes. But then again it could honestly be she is afraid your cheating.

I would ask her what she means by it though cause it could be in just plain fun but it could be more.
