Schindler's List, Silkwood, Norma Rae...all really good movies with great story lines and actors. I have many favorites, but for some reason these three are sticking out in my memory. Schindler's list is one everyone should see to understand what happened in WWII. Silkwood is a great movie (Meryl Streep, Cher, and Kurt Russel are in it) about a worker in a nuclear plant. Norma Rae is Sally Field playing an activist for a union. I almost want to sit down and watch all three right now.

The Upside Of Anger-Original plot that ends up how you would least expect. Touching.
The Weatherman- LOVE this one. Beautiful characters. It makes you laugh hysterically and cry hard at the same time.
The Chumscrubber- Very wierd. It's an indi film that really makes you think. It's unlike anything I have ever seen before, and there are some GREAT scenes in this one.
Little Miss Sunshine- This one is way funnier than it is serious, but it touches on some very serious issues. It's fantastic.
I hope I could help.
Cheers, love!

O.K. I am going to show my age here but in 1979(I was a young teen then) they made HAIR, It is about a young boy from Oklahoma, who on his way to go into the army, on his way, he meets a group of Hippies in central park, who entertain him. It is a very powerful movie, it is a musical, which I normally would not like but that movie was so good. , I(I know it was a broadway musical before they made it into a movie), but watch it, I think you might enjoy it.
