I think it's never a good idea to artificially found a country due to some idealistic goal. "Give the Jews a homeland" was just a feel-good idea that never should have happened. Mainly due to the fact that it destroys any image of the UN being an impartial body. Israel is nothing but a token offering of guilt following the murder of Jews by Hitler.
There were many Jews in Palestine already, and technically the Palestinians were given an "equal" share of the land in what is present-day Israel, but I think they really had a legitimate gripe.
Think about how you would feel if the land your family had occupied for generations was handed over to a complete stranger who had never lived there before.

UNSCOP has lead to apartheid conditions that have destablized much of the region and reinforced anti-Jewish sentiment around the world. Not too many people seem to realize Jewish Zealots had carried out terrorism against the British which ultimately lead to the creation of Israel. Can we blame anybody for percieving the U.N. as an Imperialsitic arm of Western nations or thinking that Jews are trying ot control the world? Why did an international organizaiton that had litterally just come into existence make such a bold decision?
I'm all for the idea of a World Parliment that gives everyone a voice.

At the time, it seemed like a win-win. Good business. The Jews get their Promised Land and the rest of the world gets a toehold on the Middle East. Sort of like the decision to give sovereignty to Taiwan.

No,it was not the right decision.....They divided a country from the Middle East in order for people from Europe to go and live there. The Arabs had that land for centuries and it was wrong to bring people from Europe to live there.....It's wrong for a religion to have its own country...and more there is no place we could find to create a country for someone. One way or another they would have occupied someone's land...And probably the same thing would have happen...It was wrong to create Israel in Palestine,as it would be wrong to create it in another place..

The Balfour Treaty was the first modern recognition of God's promise and decree that Canaan-land was to belong to the Jewish people. The Palestinians are simply descendants of the Philistines. All Palestinians were supposed to be relocated to land on Jordan's side of the Jordan River!

it fairly is a similar guy who mentioned that the Jews could desire to coach non-violent resistance against the Nazis. against the Nazis that would basically have been of little need in besides. His grandson has at the instant come out with some extremely anti-semitic (no longer anti-zionist) comments. thrilling that folk spout who became into anti-zionist. while human beings seem to forget approximately that folk like Martin Luther King mentioned that anti-zionism became into anti-semitism.
