I wouldn't immediately go the expensive route. I would first check the fuel pump fuse and/or the fuel pump relay. They're easy to check, and cheap to replace. Your brakes and power steering both went out because your engine shut down. Your engine creates a vacuum that operates your power brake booster and the drive belts on the front of the motor drive a pully on the power steering pump. No running engine, no power steering, no brake boost assist. You still have brakes and steering, just a lot more difficult. Anyway, check the fuse and relay first. Then go for the pump.

Seems a little early for a fuel pump to wear out.
I'd lean more toward an ignition problem.

Will it start back up after it cooled off?

If it's the fuel pump, they're about $250.00 plus labor to remove the fuel tank, R&R pump assembly, and reinstall.

Try replacing the fuel filter first. they're cheap and easy.

Fuel pump. GM had numerous problems with the pumps on these trucks which prompted them to switch suppliers from Delco to Bosch a year or two ago.

The symptoms are consistent with the fuel pump.

The fuel pump would be my first guess. I'm not sure about the price.

Have the electronic control module (ecm), at the dealership. If you have a warranty, they should hook you up.
