Replaced the 02 sensor and the idle air sensor and checked the throttle position sensor with a volt meter and took the negative battery cable off to reset the comp and the light still comes on. It runs like it's lean but I can attain highway speeds if I speed up slow enough. Seems to run fine if I don't give it any gas. Had the auto parts store check the computer and it didn't store any error codes even while it was running with the check engine light on.

There is so sensor inline with the fuel system to monitor fuel pressure. Therefore no code would show up.

You may want to check fuel pressure at the fuel filter inlet side.
13 psi is normal.
Anything less than 7-8 psi it would run, but not well, less than 5 and you'ld be lucky if it idles.

The other thing you may want to check is the rotor under the distributer cap.

I say this because I've gone through this in the past.

No, the fuel pump or filter will not make the check engine light come on.
