I think that remains a totally individual answer. We will all have memories that go along with certain smells, that either horrify us, or make us nostalgic.
I think for me the very best smell has to be the pine scent of Christmas trees. It is also the scent of essential oil that I end up buying most of to use in my oil burner to freshen my rooms.
