Generally it won't brown meats directly, not without the aid of a special foil or browning element.

Bread tends to dry out. Fried foods tend to get soggy when reheated.

But there are tons of positives! Especially the energy efficiency and how food rarely sticks in the cooking container (compared to stove top or oven baking).

To have a disadvantage you need to compare the item against something else. What do you want to compare the microwave against????????

they take up space ! .. and if you have a microwave and an oven theres absolutly no point in having a " microwave oven"
