Your core 2 duo is by far strong enough to play that game. Those minimum requirements are intended for pentium processors which were defined mainly by their mhz and ghz
furthermore, heres the recommend requirements from crisis-online
"
Recommended Requirements
CPU: Dual-core CPU (Athlon X2/Pentium D)
Graphics: Nvidia 7600 or ATI X1600 Pro (SM 3.0) or DX10 equivalent
RAM: 1.5GB+
HDD: 6GB
Internet: 512k+ (128k+ upstream)
Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX9.0c with Windows XP "
as you can see, it lists a pentium D for recommend, and core 2 duos are up to 40% faster than pentiums.

Yup, that CPU will be more than enough for those games, those games don't take a ton of CPU power. Basically yeah, it's like what you said it's adding them together. Except it's 2 CPU's that are each 2.9 instead of one that is 5.8 so if you have a game that can take advantage of a dual core CPU then it's like having a single 5.8 but in a game that can only take advantage of 1 core, it's like having a 2.9 but it would still work because the 3.0 is taking into consideration things like the operating system that can be thrown onto the other core in a dual core. I know Crysis will take advantage of both cores, I don't know for sure about TF2 but I know that it will run fine on that CPU, I had it running on a 2.6 dual core no problem.

The E6300 is a DUAL CORE proccessor (2x1,8Ghz) the 2.3 Ghz minimum is for a SINGLE core.
The E6300 is roughly equivalent in performance to a (theoretical) single core P4 clocked at 4 - 4.5 Ghz .
Combined with the 8800gt you should have no problem running Crysis.

Normally with a 1.8GHz processor no but as it is a dual core processor then you have the equivalent of two procesors running at 1.8GHz (so double this to 3.6GHz roughly).
So the processor would be fine. Don't know about the graphics card. I would also ensure you have as much memory as you can afford is you want the best from games.

easily because with core 2 duo you times the GHz by 2
so your processor is not 1.8 GHz it is in fact
1.8X2=
well no good at maths
check this website it will find out for you and in the top right and corner select the game and i will tell you if your setup is good enough
