Yes I am !!
I would tip 20% and then some, almost always.
It has to be extraordinarily bad for me to go any lower than that.
I think that if people are willing to pay for the luxury of a meal out, that they didn't have to shop for, prep, cook or clean-up after, they should tip accordingly.

I usually tip 20%. And guess what Im black. LOL.

We all know he stereotype that black people dont tip, and let me tell you, being an ex-waitress who worked in New Jersey, they dont do much to abolish that stereotype.

But even if the service is so-so...I'm a huge tipper, it drives my husband bananas. I know, that most waiters and waitresses are paying there way threw school, or just making ends meet, or even career waiters and waitresses.

I was getting paid $2.13 an hour when I was a waitress, only about 7 years ago. We Literally Worked For Tips People. I tried to be the best waitress I could possibly be, but let me tell you most of you people dont deserve the good treatment.

Most of the problems in a resteraunt are not the fault of the person serving you the food. It's like the cliche', dont shoot the messenger. If you don't like the food, thats the cooks fault. If you dont like the prices...hey,,we dont get the money from that expensive porterhouse. And alot of the time you patrons are true pains in the you know what..

20% is the right thing. And if your waiter or waitress did an outstanding job and served a party of 20 or so...all 20 of you unless children need to kick up big time.

I always tip 20% or more. I appreciate good service and I don't nit pick. As long as I know they are trying and are pleasant, that's good for me. I know they aren't responsible for alot of things that go wrong. I have only stiffed a server 3 times in my life... and they were really bad. It's a hard job and they have to give out a percentage of what they ring up, not on what they made. So, for some of you cheapies, you actually make someone work for you and then they have to pay for doing it. You have to suck really bad to do that. 10 - 15% is archaic.

Unless the tip is automatically included, I tip 20% to 25%. If it is just a cheap meal I still tip by percent. I'll go on the low end for a buffet since only the busboy is doing any work.

My wife is a little tighter than me on this.

For an outstanding server, I tip $5
For average service $3.50
For mediocre service, even less
For rude service, I stiff them.

To get a great tip from me, treat me the way the server did last week. She made our entire party feel like we were the most important people there. When we were chatting and not ready to order, she let us know we could take whatever time we needed, and did a great job of fast and accurate service.
What made her stand out was that she smiled from within (it didn't just stop on the edge of her mouth, but radiated from within). Her body language and attentiveness made our entire party feel like we were honored guests at that restaurant. She definitely got more than 15%.

$5.00 - More accurately, I tip 20%+rounded up to the next dollar. 20% because I've been a server, and I know how much it sucks to be shorted because of a mistake in the kitchen, things that are out of your control, or because people are just rude. The next dollar, because it makes it easier to balance my checking account, and I'm kind of lazy that way!

Honestly depends on the service!!!:) today people just except to be tipped but I think it depends on the waiter/waitress did they listen to your oder, did they fix any mistakes, where they polite??? cause if you go out you want an enjoyable experience.. So i think you should tip 15 or 10% if the service is good.
