I violated my veggie vow and went to Red Lobster for the 30 shrimp special. Unfortunately, there was a rather loud and loquatious woman seated at the table beside ours. As I tried to enjoy the forbidden bounty of 30, succellent, garlic-grilled shrimp, she proceeded to describe - in vivid, necrotic and undiluted detail - the amputation of 7 of her aging father's toes. I now feel as if I've experienced this man's trauma in every way. I tried to suppress the churning of my innards, however, I couldn't help but make the connection between amputated toes...and shrimp. After shooting her several venomous glares to no avail, I simply picked up a shrimp...and threw it at her. The greasy little morsel nailed the poor cow directly between the peepers and landed *plop* in her pilsner.

I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of my meal in blessed silence, yet I can't help but wonder why I wasn't tossed out on my can.

a) I'm pretty sure that necrotic imagery secretly turned you on...if you threw a shrimp it was probably aimed at the chef who forgot to deturd it and hit the gasbag due to poor aim.

b) thanks for shifting my foot fetish back into 1st gear. it will probably be Thursday or Friday before I can stare lustfully at a strange woman's feet again.

I first saw this question and knew I had to answer. I work at a RL it is an EXTERME case for a customer to be thrown out of the restaurant. The lady obviously didn't say anything if management didn't come over to you.

I have seen a lot in my years at RL, customers being absolutely rude, one table drunk, being loud and every other word an f-bomb, and she could still sit there and eat!

In the 4 years I've worked there probably only seen 1 customer thrown out, and others come back often after they should have been told not to, and management wishes they could keep out!

LOL. Oh my god. That is freaking disgusting. (I just ate.) I am so sorry that you had to go through this.

I think you might have been able to approach her a little differently. (Possibly asking her loudly to please refrain from talking about such matters in a restaurant where everyone can hear her...)

I am kinda surprised that you didn't get thrown out. She totally deserved something though!

Geesh. I'm still in awe. I feel so sorry for you...
That was such a fine and dandy desciption of the shrimp and I can tell that you really wanted to enjoy every morsel of it without hearing about some old man's ugly toes-----or lack of them :(

XD RIGHT ON!

You probably ordered an expensive meal and hell if Red Lobster didn't get it. So they can't kick you out till you've paid the bill.

But maybe you should've tried yelling instead. Could have eaten that shrimp.

That's pretty funny - she's pretty disgusting. I don't think I could ever bring myself to throw food at a stranger but I have told someone to shut-up in ISS (when I WAS in HS) while they were loudly discussing how they get weed from their parents whenever they wanted... then she came up to me after the bell rang, pushed me, and I did a right-hook to her eye. I never saw her again but I got suspended for a day. Sometimes when people **** ya off you've just gotta do something about it.

Good for you for you for being on your toes and standing up to this rude woman . I'm not sure if I could have stuck around to see her swill down the rest of that pilsner though , lol .

Maybe the waiters and waitresses were just as annoyed by her? Possibly other complaints about her? Or she simply didn't say anything to the restaurant people....
Maybe next time you could just have your waitress/waiter ask the rude person to stop, then you won't have to wonder why you are not thrown out!!!

Maybe the staff were afraid of you. :) "Okay guys, if she's gonna toss a shrimp at that loud mouth, she's gonna throw the plate at us. Let's lay low here...or run away if it flares up..."

But seriously she deserved the shrimp. She just sucks.
