YES!! The moneychangers had no right to be in the Temple doing business. They were also a bunch of crooks. Violence?? I don't think turning over tables
and driving them out was violence. It was the right thing to do--they had no right
to be there. You have forgotten Who Jesus is. He created the world and all that was in it. Jesus and His Father God--my Father. Of course it was political as far
as the Jewish priests were concerned. They were jealous of Jesus and all that
He could do. Would I love to see the look on their faces now when they found out
that Jesus is the Son of God and the creator of them as well.

Logically, Republican / Democratic political parties were non-existent during Jesus' time on Earth.
Believe me: the moneychangers would rather Jesus handle the matter of cleaning up the mess of holy temple desecration than having God do it in a far more effective manner.......
....and yes: Jesus was completely right and within bounds to clean up the moneychanger mess as he did.

To equate Jesus with any political party is outside the realm of religion. Jesus had no political party. He was acting as the Son of God. He was absolutely correct to drive the money changers from the temple of God. The temple was for the worship of God, not the money changers & their greed. "The poor will be with you always" was not said at this time & has no relationship to politics.

no, not at all, Jesus was God on earth as a man, his temple was not ment for people to sell trinkets and make money, and that is what they where doing, making profit of his teachings. he made the statement "the poor are with you always" tp tell me and you, greed and materialism is a sinful pursuit, we are to take care fo the poor, they are reminders that we must have compassion on others, it is everyones personal responsibility to help those in need, you have no excuse, there will always be poor people. Republicans and Democrats should act like Christ, God never acts like them, or you , and not me either. Ask him yourself, he always answers (We often don't like his answers).

If and its a big if-Jesus was alive and lived in the US he would be a libertarian. He drove the moneychangers out because they were taking the poor peoples money and charging exhorbitant interest.

I think he regretted it later. The poor will always be with you is my favorite line... Basically indulge me (Jesus) because I will be dead soon. The fact that he said it to Judas is the kicker; man way to lose face. You know Judas was thinking damn what happened to help the poor. Its just neocon thinking act like you care about the little guy until you have power and popularity then turn your back on them
