do you think is to dumb that some countries still have royalty?
countries like, Spain, Japan, Denmark, England pay lots of money to maintain the royalty.... what do you think about this? is a dumb think, or is just great, if you think is dumb say why and if you think is great give reasons too

Actually, the British Monarchy puts far more money into the Exchequer from the Royal Estates, than the allowance they are given out of it. They also pay taxes.

As to whether it is "dumb", it doesn't matter. That's how we like it.

I think that it is not a bad idea. They are given so much money and it is distributed to the various family members. Out of that money they have to pay for their staff, maintenance of their homes, and wardrobe. Not to mention travel expenses to and from events that they are expected to attend. In return, they put up with NO privacy, having to have future partners scrutinized far more than any elected official and have every mis-step documented for posterity. They don't sit on their laurels, they do a lot for the various charities in their prospective countries. I think that they earn their keep.

I don't think it's a good idea, because in reality, they really don't do anything. There are parliments and an actual government. The royals sit back and take all the glory, when there are actual people that do the work.
