2x+y=18

Is this a slope intercept question, that's how I will answer.

y=mx+b where m is the slope and b is the y intercept.

Subtract 2x from both sides.

y = -2x + 18

slope = -2
y intercept = 18
.

-2x from both sides
y=-2x+18 or y=2x-18

I don't understand your question
x = (18-y)/2
or
y = ( 18 - 2 x )
Isn't ?
