A guy in class has never talked to me...his bff tells me that hes crazy about me...hes the exact opposite of what im looking for...how d you suggest letting him know i dont like him witout making myself sound liek acomplete asshole?

If he's never talked to you, then you really don't have to say anything to him. If he does finally decide to speak, at least be polite to him. He sounds like he's shy and unsure of himself.

Just list it out ! At the end of one year , it has 1 berry. At the end of 2 years , it will have 2 berries. At the end of 3 years , it will have 4 berries. And so on. Tell him straight. Sugar coating/lying will hurt him more. When you say it just make sure you say it in a manner that isnt condecending or elitest (for example, i am too good for you, begone you peon).
If you explain it like that then he should understand. He will be crushed no doubt but its much better then leading him on then eventually crushing him, Thats just a cruel thing girls do who are too cowardly to face the guy.

Since he's never talked to you himself, I wouldn't say anything at all. If his friend continues to tell you that he likes you, say politely, that you are not interested because you don't know anything about him since he's never had the courage or confidence to talk to you himself.
