Only okay if you want to pay for tooth decay and trips to the doctor for ear infections.

The concern with this, is that there is a possibility that fluid may drain behind the inner ear and cause an ear infection. The other concern, of course is choking, because the baby is lying flat while drinking. I allow my son to have a bottle in his crib if I am right in the room but putting away laundry or folding clothes or something....I never leave him alone like that. He is 6 1/2 months old.

I don't think the crib will hold you.

No, don't feed the baby in the crib. It is the main cause for "bottle mouth" where the infants teeth decay from the sugars in the bottle's milk. They are little for such a short time. Pick up your baby.

At 18 months, you incredibly must be attempting to ween them off of the bottle and onto a sippy cup. My daughter has been utilising a sippy she became 10 months previous. with a bit of luck you have atleast presented them to some good meals by potential of now. yet directly to the definitely question: My son is eleven months previous, and he wont take a bottle till he's mendacity down and has been that way on the grounds that beginning, so I dont see any problems with it.

No.....you should be holding your child while you feed him.

ETA:
- feeding time should be a time for you to cuddle and interact
- babies should be supervised while feeding
- your child could choke
- might increase the chances of ear infections if feeding laying down in bed
- might increase the chance of tooth decay
- crib is a place for sleeping, not for eating

Bottle-feeding laying down increases the risks of ear infections.

"4. Feed baby upright. Lying down while bottle-feeding can cause the milk to irritate the Eustachian tube which can contribute to ear infections."

"Most importantly, never leave the bottle in the baby’s mouth over long periods of time, allowing the baby to feed itself. This is a practice that is often done by some mothers when putting baby to bed. You’re your baby is unsupervised; it is quite easy for milk to enter the ear. This habit, can also lead to something called bottle-feed tooth decay. Finally, it is important to remember that you must be more careful against infection when you bottle-feed. Breast milk is packed full of mother’s own antibodies: formula milk has none of these. And, it is these antibodies that help your baby to ward off infection."

"Bottle feeding - babies who are bottle-fed especially while they are lying down get more ear infections than babies who are breast-fed. If you bottle-feed, keep your baby's head above his/her stomach level during feeding."

# Hold your baby close to you in your arms, with the head a little higher than the rest of the body to prevent milk from backing up in the inner ear and causing an ear infection. Never prop a bottle.
# Propping a bottle is psychologically unwise and can be physically dangerous. Holding your baby during feeding is one of the best ways to establish close parent/child bonds.

It is not recommended. Not only is it more of a choking hazard, it starts a bad habit Pediatricians do not recommend putting your babies to bed with a bottle as it is bad for their teeth...you don't want to start that habit now.

Since my daughter is only one month old, and I breast-feed her, I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure that it isn't safe.
