network connections...?

when i right click on my connection:

Local Area Connection
Connected
Broadcom 440x 10/1000 Intergrated Connection

and then click on properties,
it says:
An unexpected error occurred
and the window is called network connection.
the wierd thing about it is that it has a logo of a folder in the taskbar.

any help PLEASE!!
i need to fix this.

sorry it's not 10/1000
it is 10/100

What OS, this sounds like you have a corrupted installation for networking. If it is XP try a repair installation from the original XP cd.
