Am I the only person in the entire world who thinks Pink Floyd sucks? It seems like everyone loves them, but I cant stand to listen to any of their songs. Theyre terrible. I saw them rated as the #4 best band ever. Theyre sooo overrated. Anyone else agree, or am I alone on this one?

Some of you may be surprised to learn that I like a lot of the music from that era- Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Chicago, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, James Taylor, Kansas, Lynard Skynard, the Beach Boys, Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles, the Lovin Spoonful, Tom Petty, etc....- I just happen to think Pink Floyd sucks

I think that if you've given the Floyd a solid go and have considered the lot of their material ( going beyond radio staples like Wish You Were Here or Comfortably Numb) and explored their multiple sides and avenues and you have still found the same verdict, I salute you for your honesty and ability to state your God-given opinion even though a huge volume of persons (such as myself) would totally disagree. It's differences like these (and also what makes this community abuzz with activity) that make each one of us an individual, and not just another brick in the wall...haha!...had to do it, sorry.

You are on an island. You should be singing "Is There Anybody Out There?" from the album The Wall by Pink Floyd, but you are so stuck on playa hatin' real music. I suppose you think Led Zeppelin and The Eagles are just old geezers too?

I really like Pink Floyd when Syd Barrett was in the band. I don't consider their later material bad, much of it is quite excellent; rather it isn't to my taste. Some of it I find tolerable, but, for the most part, I find it to be too pretentious, humorless and self-important and I find Roger Waters to be a bit of an arrogant prick.

It's good to be able to disagree with popular opinion, but it's popular for a reason. You're in the minority here. Pink Floyd's an awesome band. Calling them overrated when the majority of people like them sounds a bit silly. Be happy with your opinions, but don't try to make people feel wrong about theirs.

Sorry, I love Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin all those bands from that era. I will say Floyd is not my favorite from that era but they are awesome in concert.

I think your alone, but I think you need to open your mind and ears!!!! Everyone has different tastes in music, i do think Pink Floyd is fantastic but you have to be in the mood. Roger Waters tour was rated the best live performance in 2006. I think you need to expand your mind to music. There is music I don't care for, but I appreciate the talent.

"I can't stand to listen to any of their songs."

That's the thing. Floyd really needs to be listened to at the album level, not as singles. Each individual song may not seem that great on its own, but put them together into the album and that's where they really excelled.

Pink Floyd is the absolute best. I'm surprised they were only #4. Tell us, who do YOU listen to.

It's for some people, it's not for others. You might stand pretty close to alone, though, my friend.
