It's been time.
Unfortunately the system is has been modified to the point where getting into the running is exceptionally difficult. The donkeys and elephants have done a good job at ensuring that we only ever have one of two choices. It's one of the few things they work together on. They've pretty much convinced a vast majority taht voting for a thrid party (even if they manage to get on the ballot) is throwing your vote away.
I vote third party whenever I can, but the opportunities to do so are pretty rare.
It's really irritating to have a choice only between chocolate and vanilla, when what you really want is strawberry.

No, I believe that the two-party system is the right one. A quick review of countries that have three or more parties, which allows for proportional representation, shows that it is a deadlock situation. The 'herd' of politicos gets thin in talent, special interests kick in strongly to take over individual parties, and there will ALWAYS be an 'anti' group that doesn't like anything. If we have to get something done we do manage to work it out because there is only one other place to go for support - the opposition. It's messy but it works.

The 2 party system is inevitable. 3rd parties can't win elections, unless they replace one of the other 2.

I like the Norway model.
Several people run then the ones with the most votes go into a run off election.
You must have a majority to win.

That would be great if it were possible, but unfortunately it will never happen. I think they both suck *** though. Democrats and Republicans are douchebags.

That and the electoral college are both out-dated and obsolete.
