Get commercial line..it is so strong..I have had it on for yrs. You need to go where the big landscape companies buy there supplies..but you may have to buy quite a bit. Or if you see a company working..there is a good chance they would either give you some or sell some. It is a much stronger grade and well worth it.

There are nylon blades that you can purchase at a store like Lowe's that are fitted to weed whackers which eliminates the need for line.

At the garden supply store you can buy these plastic parts to put on the weed whacker they last for a long long time.

Get a thicker line, and, remember, it IS supposed to break, periodically..

for a bigger job us a trimmer on wheels.
(the main problem I had was they didn't do much to pipe cane.my trimmer cut that better but not good.)

well, it may be your line is weak, or you need a new one. i have a stihl and it works perfectly. you could also use an edger.
