Venus is yellow-orange. The reason we see it as a yellow light is because of it's highly reflective cloud tops, that reflect most of the suns light. From the surface of Venus, the sky is dark Orange, and stormy.

When I look at it in a telescope it looks bright white. Pure white. That bright star you see in the west just after sunset these days is Venus. That is the cloud tops of course, we cannot see the surface of Venus. But still, I read that the clouds tops are yellowish. I just don't see it though. The source is a picture I took.

The key is seeing it above the earth's atmosphere.

"If we looked at Venus with our eyes above the atmosphere, we would see a really bright white-yellowish ball with essentially no features."
