I got a new laptop with vista on it and it runs fine. Actually runs faster than my desktop. What kind of laptop did you purchase? Also, did you install Vista or did it come already on your laptop?

Since you don't tell us anything, really, about your laptop, ie, how much ram, etc, it's not easy for us to help you, but, most times, when laptop is slow, it's because of not enough ram, or, you could have spyware, and adware.. check those and, if it's still slow and you have enough ram, then format and install XP

Your best bet it to format the drive and reinstall XP. That way you won't have problems with the Vista files that are on there now.

do you have your xp install cd?

xp should see the the hardware and install
drivers for it and not need vista drivers.

if vista is too slow for the laptop
why was it installed on it to begin with?
