Please note this does not include roses. Most roses grow well with a soil pH of 5.5 to 7, although a pH of 6.5 is ideal. While slightly acidic soils range form pH 5.8 to 6.5 and extremely acid soils range from pH 4.0-5.0. Roses are not considered acid loving plants but they tolerate slight acidity. But plants, such as azaleas, rhododendrons, blueberries, white potatoes and conifer trees, tolerate strong acid soils and grow well at pH5.0 - 5.5.

that is not a lot the acidity, extra the provision of food. common soils comprise dissimilar carbonates. And carbonates are insoluble, so that they don't seem accessible to plants. exceptionally iron, magnesium and calcium are locked up. and particular plants favor those better than others (Azalea and Camellia are best examples). In acid soil, those food are extra really available.

Try rhododendrons, or we call them Rodie's. They are very colorful, and love soil that is acidy, as I grew mine under the redwoods, and they love it. I had some red ones and purple ones, and when they flower, they are beautiful to look at.
