Santiago DE Cuba (for over a month; summer 2002) It was a tough summer for me. my good friend who was worrying talked me into getting in a plane and leaving the city for a while. I have always dreamed going to Cuba. I love the 50's style and Cuba is a place where time seems to have stopped right then. I traveled to la Havana. took a local plane (something many don't encourage due to the shape in which the planes are) i must say the flight was quite an adventure. Once I got to Santiago, I tried to find an hotel room but quickly understood that this was not going to be too easy (Santiago was ending its biggest yearly music festival that attracts people from all over the world). Some kind owner of an hotel I had stopped by realized my worries, asked me to wait and five minutes later, I was in the house of my future mama y papa de Cuba. Cuba had welcomed me into its home. I stayed for over a month and lived most beautiful moments. People there seemed to know what I was going through or something like that. it is hard to explain. But, on various occasions, I had eye contacts, brief conversations, moments with complete strangers. Through their eyes, words, gestures, they gave me a new inspiration. I came back to the US a different person. It was one of these travels that are more than just a "vacation." It was in a way, a pilgrimage.

My boyfriend took me to Hawaii, he grew up there initially because of the fact his dad became interior the army. We by some means made it on the army base and he confirmed me the homestead he grew up wherein is a few historic landmark now, his intense college, the place he labored and frolicked whilst he became a baby. He took me around the whole island exhibiting me all of the tourist or perhaps the interior sight places. We additionally went to the Polynesian subculture center that's somewhat like the Hawaiian Disneyland. I even observed the main suited sundown ever, super trip! i want yet another!

The one I enjoyed most was Australia, visiting family I hadn't seen for many years it was tears and laughter all the time and I've been back 4 times now.
The next best was America,we visited Nashville,Asheville,Memphis, Kentucky and Churchill downs, with a few others on the way and we ended up at Hilton Head Island.
It was a fabulous holiday,we did a fly drive with pre booked hotels and every hotel was superb but it was a little tiring and when we got home we were ready for another holiday.

Puerto Rico with my best friend, we went almost everywhere in one week, it was a lot to take in in such a short time, but I don't get to see him that often, and it was a special gift to be able to do that. I hope to do it again soon. I loved it there and the food and people are just wonderful. I miss it!
