I have been doing a lot of research on fertility and pregnancy and the outcomes.
after age 40 fertility naturally starts to decline.
as long as you are healthy and feel like you would like to try to have a baby now is as good a time as any.
I personally know women who waited till their late 30's and found it was hard to conceive.
I also know women who got pregnant easily at 40.
you know your situation and health better than anyone else.
it also wouldn't hurt to have a physical and start taking folic acid before you try to conceive so that you can make sure you get the best possible start.
there are a lot of great health and pregnancy related websites.
hope this helps.
best of luck

It's a perfect average. Unless you have some kind of underlying medical problem, it's considered low risk to be pregnant at your age.
