okay, i have this science project I have to do and i need to have at least three full pages of info about the tongue. I have the basic info but if any one would like to describe the anatomy of the tongue, i would apprreciate it cuz every website i go to they use big words that are hard to comprehend. **** no silly answers for pounts pleeeese.

You might have to ask for some help with the big words if you want to do a really good projecton the tongue.

Hmmm... looks like you're going to have to learn the long words hon. I've had a look around at kids anatomy resources on the internet and for the most part they don't do much more than treat the tongue as part of the mouth - then they give no further information.

If you have REALLY bad trouble with the hard words, don't hesitate to email me.

The tongue is a muscle. It has taste buds. It is vascular (has blood flow). The muscles help manipulate the food in your mouth and move the food to get chewed by your teeth. There are little bumps on the tongue called papille. In the back of the tongue there are taste buds, arranged by what they can taste. This helps also with speech and swallowing food.
