As I stand today I have a very hard time coming up with a good opinion of mankind. However, there is a stark contrast to my view of general humanity and their little children. I tend to view adults as insane, corrupt, dull, and conniving with their only being a few exceptions. I tend to view little children as pure, innocent, beautiful, and morally superior to adults with few exceptions. Is this the correct view or am I mistaken or worse...a pedofreak?

I met a few adults who were exceptions. One of which is my mother and a beautiful girl I met in college. The "great people" in history and many of the saints would be included but I'm not sure how much of it is myth and which isn't. This is not enough to make me view the ruling generation as noble.

It is fully possible to have the right view AND be a freak, you know. They're not mutually exclusive.
Anyway, to your real question. Children are not pure, innocent, etc. Have you ever worked in a child care situation? Children are the grand champion connivers, believe me. Children -- even very young ones -- do not need to be taught how to lie, steal, cheat, be jealous of another child, be selfish, etc, etc,etc. In fact, we who work with them on a regular basis are trying very hard to teach them NOT to do all these things they do so naturally.
Don't get me wrong; I love children and therefore work very hard to help them grow into responsible adults who will not fit your current perception of adult reality.

It's true that children are more innocent than their adult counterparts. That's because adults have experienced life alot longer, and because of that, adults have suffered the whole array of human suffering. There are exceptions, you're right. Even in children. Some children are bullies, without any realization that they are hurting other human beings. Just as there are adults who genuinely care about other people. I know it's hard to always have a good opinion of mankind in general. It's hard to find that sometimes. But just try to think of the times when tragedies happen in life, and how people always band together and help one another. That's when our true selves come to the surface.

Both children and adults have their good and bad points.
Children can be pure, innocent, beautiful. Morally superior? No, that takes testing. Children can also be irresponsible, self-centered, greedy, whiny, and, from grade school on, cruel.
Adults can be insane, corrupt, dull, and conniving. They can also be responsible, skilled, shrewd, caring, merciful, and on occasion, heroic.
You're probably depressed or discouraged right now. Hopefully, in time, you will gain a more balanced view.

that is a common belief however, i do not agree. do you have children? they canb e heathens. granted, they are less aflicted by the moral views of others and therefore more lily to be impartia. but they are nothing close to pure.ust as adults do they manipulate others to bend them to their will, they are selfish and greedy as any others. the fact is, humanity in general sucks. however sometihng must be said for the posotive facts.that will be said by someone other than me because although i recognize them, i hardly feel the need to defend such a pathetic race.

Children are soon ruined by the corrupt people who are raising them, so I have no idealistic view of them either.

I agree! It helps if you realise that little child is still in the adult, just underneath a few layers of junk.
