I just recently got a new/used car, new to me. I work full time and treated myself to a few year old BMW. My mom asked what other cars I was considering and I told her. My mom has always been lazy and manipulative and uses anything to manipulate me. Well onto the good part, mom emailed me and asked me to look up information on all of the cars on the list for her, BUT one year newer than I got. She has no job by choice but has a husband who works who will probably buy it for her. BUT she wants me to do reseach for her? I take pride in the fact that I work and can buy myself nice things, she takes pride in the fact that she can get nice things without working. Must she rub it in my face? To me thats just mean and non mother like. What do you think?

Since you did such a good job for yourself buying a car, maybe she's impressed and wants your expertise on selecting a new car. Be proud you did this on your own, maybe your mom doesn't know the first thing about researching a new or used car. I hate car shopping, I refuse to go to a lot and buy a car because I feel that you get taken advantage of to me that's a guy thing. Help your mom out, she gave birth to you it's the least you can do.

You sound like you're jealous of your mom. Rub it in your face? It's your mom! She's likely not thinking along the lines you are, or she'd never ask you to do research for her. If you resent this so much, tell her you've not any time to do this research. Try to work out your issues with her, as this is the only mom you'll ever have...Good luck.

It takes 2 to make this a contest and you're in it as deep as your mother is, just coming from a different angle.

Your mother does what works for her. You don't have enough life experience to be able to understand what made her this way.

So lighten up.
