I have always been really good at crash dieting until now. I have always had a problem with my weight even when i was skinny. Now i am the heaviest ive ever been-im not super fat, but chubby. I used to be able to go a day eating around 500 cal. but now i cant do that. I would sometimes gain weight back, but not more then i had started. i am fine with that. I dont know how to get to where i used to be and how i used to do that, i just dont care as much when i actually choose to eat something but i feel so guilty afterwards and make a plan of what and how many cal. i will eat the next day, but never fall through. I know healthy diet & exercise is the best way, but im wondering from people who actually crash diet and stuff, how they do it? any suggestions or tips? and from anyone how to stay motivated and do the right thing when the food is right in front of you

"Healthy diet and exercise" and crash dieting are two separate things. The yo-yo dieting cycle that you've been going through makes it hard to lose weight, it's harder to lose through the same weight range each time you do it.
Also, you can lose a lot on 500 cals/day for a while, but eventually your body will go into starvation mode and conserve every calorie, refusing to burn them. When that happens it's almost impossible to lose weight, even if you literally starve yourself-you'll die first.
You may have gotten away with a pattern like this up till now but the years take their toll and it's clearly not working any more.
Go to a doctor, join a sensible, reasonably paced weight loss program like Weight Watchers and try a slower but permanent diet program. You are damaging your heart and setting yourself up for real problems in a few years.

I completely understand where you're coming from. I gained 40lbs since summer of last year and I feel like crap. When I was speaking to a friend of mine who used to be a personal trainer he told me that when I'm hungry eat a granola bar. I go for the honey and oats. But last week sunday a friend told me to also drink 1 1/2 table spoons of Apple Cider Vinegar with a glass of water. So of course i'm going to give it a try.

Here is what I did. I was working at 7 am and had to be up at 5am. I would wake up and Mix 1 1/2 tbsp of Apple Cider Vinegar in 8 ounces of water. I let it sit for 2 minutes and then drink it.

Then when I arrive at work I would eat a granola bar with a bottled water.

At 9:30 a.m. I will eat an egg white omlet with turkey and onions with a bottled water.

At 1:30 p.m. I eat any kind of meat ( a lot of meat mind you ) with veggies like cooked spinach, carrots & broccoli.

For dinner I have salmon with veggies aswell.

For a night time snack I eat half of a green apple with 1 1/2 table spoons of reduced fat peanut butter.

I did this from Monday April 23rd, 07 - April 26th, 07. In that time frame I had lost 6 pounds. Now it's sunday and I dropped an extra 3.5 pounds. That is 9.5 lbs lost in one week.

I literally cried when I saw the numbers getting lower on the scale. I knew that eating properly was a good thing but dang!! The results this new eating habit has given me are making me a very very happy chick.

Try not to worry about losing weight so much as just not having all the fatten foods in the house or easy to get too.Gradually change your eating habits .This is what i try to do ,I actually feel better when I eat and drink healthy foods.Dont beat yourself up just try and before long if you do the best you can ,you'll get better and better about your choices of eats and so forth,it takes time.

i think it`s a better plan to eat a little of the things u like...if u totally deprive yourself, u are setting yourself up for an eventual melt-down!!! eating things u like in moderation will help keep u from feeling deprived, & then u can feel satisfied that u can eat a little of dessert, or pizza, or whatever it is, instead of feeling that it`s so bad...also, eat something every few hours, instead of eating larger meals, because then u keep your body constantly fueled with energy...

drink an energy drink instead so you wont be weak or hungry. or just eat some gum so you won't eat.
