Since you asked my opinion then here it is. In my own life I have a mutt and she is sooo sweet. I had her spayed as soon as I could and I have regretted it. I have another dog which I inhereted (a chihuahua) and she can still have puppies. I would really like to breed her because I would love for my children the experience to watch puppies being born and the awesomeness of it all. I believe that if you feel you can find homes for all of the puppies and kittens and they will be taken care of then no but if they are mutts and you might not be able to find a good home for them then they should be spayed or neutered. I myself can no longer have any children but it was not by choice.

I would agree with you except for the fact that some people dont take care of there pets and they run rampant and overpopulate. They become a nuisance, destructive and sometimes dangerous to the community. I wouldn't want a pack of pitbulls running through my town killing small animals and attacking children which they have been known to do. The same goes for feral cats, they serve no purpose for the community. I hate killing but there has to be a limit or we'd be over run with wild animals.

Well... if you are an experienced breeder I say it is fine not to.... HOWEVER... if you cant commit to raising puppies (ESPECIALLY since there can be 2 or more litters a year)... than it is in your best interest to have them altered. Just because a 13 (or younger) year old girl can conceive a baby, doesn't mean it is in her best interest to produce a child each year. Especially when she would not have the means to look after it as it should be looked after... I know it is totally different... BELIEVE ME.... I am just trying to prove a point..... I have a puppy that just entered her first season, and i have been trying to decide if she should be altered, or bred... and i know my husband and myself work full time, and live on a cattle farm which is a second full time job.... and there is NOOOOOO way we have the time to care for puppies.... even if we were planning to give them away..... just something to think about. Best of luck

each animal has a 'divine purpose' however, we humans have managed to corrupt the purpose of almost every species (flora and fauna) to suit our needs.
So I am Not against spaying and neutering. I beleive that if we can control the number of unwanted pets running around its a good thing.
We try to enforce birth control on people so why not on animals!

40% of the animals that get turned into the military animal shelter here get put down. That's HORRIBLE. I absolutely support spaying and neutering animals and wish they had laws about doing so. This chick I know here have two mangy mutts that she allowed to breed so now they have 2 disgusting dogs and 8 nasty little puppies and one of them is blind. I wish they would just take them in and put them down... it's going to happen anyways. No one is going to pick those nasty dogs over the cute ones they have at the shelter. I don't even care how this sounds... I feel bad for all of the animals that get put down - it'd be best if they were never born.

Spaying and neutering animals is not much different than us humans having our tubes tied or vasectomies. We do this, because God also gave us brains to use so we can have some common sense. If no animals were spayed or neutered, so many of them would be neglected and die. Animals cannot make decisions for themselves, so we need to make their decisions for them. It's not an act of cruelty. It's a means to take care of their species.

I am for the spraying and neutering of animals. Your reasoning is not all there, especially the one about helping the blind, if the world had stayed the way God intended, there would be no blind people. It is our fault that we have to spray and neuter our animals, if we had been responsible we wouldn't have too.

I got my dog neutered so he'd stop pissing(marking his territory) all over the damn house. He kept trying to knock his sister up too. I didn't feel great about it, but dog piss everywhere stinks. The first time our female got pregnant by him, they were way too young to be doing that kind of thing and the litter died as a result. Also, I think your last statement about this leading to the population control of humans is a bit out there. I can see some of your argument as valid, but you're way too far on the radical side for me to hop on board.

Your point is valid; although in this day and age people are doing what they can to prevent themselves from reproducing as God would intend. You have heard of vasectomies being done and women having their tubes tied. There's nothing like a few rug rats and curtain climbers in a house according to mybook. Kids are wonderful and life is nothing without them.

I do support spading a neutering of my cats and cats. All five of my dogs are spade or neutered, as well as all four of my cats are spaded. And the biggest reason I support this is because of the over population of both cats and dogs. If it weren't for this I would NOT do it.
